Symposium “The Future of Journalism”
On Saturday, July 2, a student support project titled “The Future of Journalism” will be held at Keio University’s Mita Campus. It will be
hosted by Nikkei Inc. the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and the Keio University Institute for Journalism, Media &
Communication Studies.
At the event, experts and journalists will focus on the complex relationship between war and media coverage. With the world now focused on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, how can we evaluate on-the-ground reporting of the conflict? What roles are social networking sites playing? These and other questions will be raised and discussed.Japanese-English simultaneous interpretation of the event will be available, and real-time online participation will also be possible.

Natsuki Yasuda is a professional photojournalist, a visual storyteller, reporting from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Japan. She will share her experiences in Cambodia, Syria, and disaster-hit Tohoku region, using her photographs to communicate the lives of people there.
